…or it’s not.

Have you ever noticed how those with titles or prestige always seem to have their portraits painted, sketched, or photographed by a true artist? They seek out someone who will help them look and feel their very best, someone who can capture their grace and the essence of who they are.

Have you ever noticed the Victoria's Secret models and stood in awe at their flawless skin, perfect physiques, and ravishing beauty? They, too, had the advantage of a professional photographer, a creative who understood lighting, angles, and posing. If the model had a pimple the day of the shoot, the retoucher magically made it disappear.

Have you ever had a “friend" take a snap photo of you and then post it to social media before you could object? Did the image make you feel like a rock star, or did it humiliate you?

What most people fail to understand is that a good camera, whether it is the latest phone or an expensive DSLR, does not constitute a good image. A camera is a tool that needs to be understood. A great image is one that positively engages the subject, under the best lighting conditions, from the best angles … and so on and so forth. A great image is a recipe of ideals and understanding.

A stunning portrait should make the subject feel every bit as important as the diplomat and as beautiful as a model. So hire someone to shoot your wedding, your grad, your newborn, or you and you alone, because you’re worth it.
